Commemoration of victims of Armenian genocide to be held in Vatican

Every year the Armenian communities scattered all over the world recollect this tragedy, the victims of which were one and a half million people, by joint prayer. The Armenian community in Rome will gather in the Pontifical Armenian Collegium, where the liturgy will be held under the leadership of Archbishop Rafael Minasyan, ordinary for Catholics of the Armenian rite in Armenia, Georgia, Russia and throughout Eastern Europe. The sermon will be delivered by Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for Oriental Churches. The commemoration will be attended by diplomatic representatives of the Republic of Armenia at the Holy See and in Italy.
After the service, the victims will be commemorated in front of the khachkar erected in memory of the genocide.
