Is it fair to baptize children in infancy if they don’t understand anything yet?

QUESTION: Is it fair to baptize children in infancy when they still do not understand anything – after all, Jesus himself was baptized at a conscious age? What right does the Church have to force them to obey the Church’s rules when they grow up?

ANSWER: Let’s start with the second part of the question: what right does the Church have to enforce the observance of church rules if a person was baptized at an irresponsible age? This issue already contains a great injustice and error, since the Church does not in any way coerce or persecute those who, being baptized, became an atheist or converted to another religion. The Church does not deprive them of anything and does not force them to do anything.
