The post of prefect has remained vacant since February.

The Holy Father appointed Archbishop Arthur Roche, formerly Bishop of Leeds and secretary of the said Congregation, as Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments.

Monsignor Vittorio Francesco Viola, Bishop of Tortona, will now take over the post of secretary, while Monsignor Aurelio García Marcias, formerly head of the Congregation, has been appointed deputy secretary in the rank of bishop with a titular see in Rotdona.
