The apostolic nunciature in Poland called the accusations against the president of the Polish Bishops’ Conference, Archbishop Stanislaw Gondecki, unfounded: the hierarch was credited with negligence in investigating cases of sexual crimes against minors committed by two priests from two different dioceses. After examining all the collected documentation, the Holy See found all accusations unfounded. The nunciature said in a statement that the charges were denied and the case was closed.
