What is “spiritual sacrament” and how do you receive it?

ANSWER: by spiritual communion we mean the union of the human soul with God in the Most Holy Trinity. It is based on the Lord’s promise: “He who has My commandments and keeps them, he is the one who loves Me; but he who loves me will be loved by my Father; and I will love him and I will manifest myself to him ”(Jn 14:21); “He who loves Me will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make our abode with him ”(John 14:23).

The apostles understood these words as an opportunity for personal union with the Lord in their own hearts. That is why Saint Peter wrote: “Hallow the Lord God in your hearts” (1 Peter 3:15).
