The recent lavish funeral of the Roman mafioso Casamonica drew public condemnation not only because of their spectacularity, but also due to the fact that the Church did not refuse the funeral service for an inveterate sinner.
Don Giulio Maspero, associate professor at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, comments on this event: “First of all, we must say that we are all sinners.
