Why does the Lord allow children and young people to die?

QUESTION: why does the Lord allow the death of children and young people? We must carry our cross and are saved by suffering, but in relation to an adult this can still be understood, and for what purpose are these crosses given to children?

ANSWER: if God created man only for earthly life, then doubts about the permissibility of suffering would be fully justified. Suffering in this case really seems to be unfair and even absurd.
