What should the Church think about sex education?

QUESTION: What should be the sex education of adolescents according to Christian principles? What is the best way to present to them the teaching of the Church in this area?

ANSWER: often parents, teachers and even catechists offer children something like a “list”: what is allowed and what is not. This is an erroneous approach: it does not reflect the teachings of the Church, which is not at all in the list of prohibitions – otherwise it would really look repulsive, authoritarian, incomprehensible and distant from people.
